Dealing with a pregnancy can be a scary and difficult thing to do, especially if it is your first time. If you’re a first time mom or a concerned husband, read on to see what kinds of things you ought to expect and be wary of during a pregnancy.

You can continue an exercise program while you are pregnant.  Make sure you tell your doctor about any exercise and listen if they say no.  Walking is a great form of exercise to adopt if you are not a very active person in general and there are some great yoga poses to do while pregnant as well.

Expect hormonal as well as body changes during pregnancy.  Try not to worry too much about these changes as you do not want to spiral into depression.  You can always work on your weight later yet you do not want to set yourself up for depression.  When you are better prepared on what to expect it will not seem like such a shock to your system.

Did you know you can prepare your vaginal area for birth during pregnancy?  Use wheat germ oil, or other oil such as apricot oil.  Massage about a teaspoon or two into the perineum and vulva daily and get ready for all the work and stretching that area is about to do!

Pack your bags before you go to a hospital or birthing center to give birth. The time of labor is always filled with stress. It is important to consider all things beforehand and packing what you may need before giving birth. Only fill your bags with things that you need and don’t take unnecessary necessities.

To help minimize back pain, pay attention to your posture. You want to try and walk and sit straight. Also, stretch your legs as much as possible and try not to bend over if you do not have to. This will help minimize the strain on your waist. It is also important to sleep on your side to help with back pain.

Use light exercise to prepare for labor and prevent excess weight. Of course, you are going to gain a great deal of weight when pregnant, but you don’t want to gain more than you should. At the same time, preparing for labor takes a lot of work, with exercise targeting both issues appropriately.

Find supportive people around you if you are experiencing a non traditional pregnancy out of wedlock or as a same sex couple.  The same people who are against abortion may turn out to be against single mothers!  Keep this in mind when dealing with family and friends.  You may have too weed out a few toxic people from your life during a non traditional pregnancy and find new and supportive friends!

As you can see, there are a lot of things to think about and keep in mind when dealing with a pregnancy to ensure a healthy, happy baby. Make sure to be aware of the advice in this article at all times so that you can know what you should and shouldn’t do for your baby.
