During your pregnancy it is important to get a full nights rest. Stress can be a major cause of not being able to sleep. If you are feeling stressed, find someone that you can talk to about the problems that you are having. Pregnancy can be a stressful thing and you should always talk about the things that are causing you stress.

If you are pregnant and your feet are very swollen, make sure to let your doctor know. Although this could just be part if the pregnancy, it could also be a sign of preeclampsia, a dangerous condition that affects pregnant women by causing elevated blood pressure. This condition needs to be treated to ensure that you have a healthy birth.

For pregnant women in their third trimester, try to sleep on your left side. Sleeping this way gives your fetus the best blood supply and also allows blood to easily flow to your kidneys and uterus. Try to avoid sleeping on your back, it is the worst position for blood flow.

One of the best things that you can do in order to have a healthy pregnancy is to stop smoking.  It might be hard at first, but this will enable you to have a very healthy baby.  There are many programs out there that can help you to get rid of this very bad addiction.
