Pregnancy Tips That Every Woman Can Use

Take the time to really enjoy your pregnancy.  The nine months will seem like an eternity when you are going through it, but soon enough, you will miss that kicking in your belly.  As blessed as carrying a child is, there is a lot to consider, do and deal with.  This article will give you some tips on how to handle it all.

When trying to perform kick counts late in pregnancy, your previously active baby may occasionally scare you with fewer movements than normal. If you are concerned, try drinking a caffeinated soda or something with a bit of sugar in it. Often, this is enough to wake up your baby and jump-start his or her movements again.

babyIf you find yourself unexpectedly pregnant and decide to continue with the pregnancy, know that you will go through a wide range of emotions. If you are not married this is going to be even more of a roller coaster ride. People often have their own judgement to make and if their view of you is negative or toxic because of the choices you have made, do not let it get to you.

Don’t stop using a seat belt in your car while driving or riding as a passenger. The danger to your baby from the seat belt is much less than the danger from you being loose in the car in the event of a crash.  Make sure the belt is as low on your hips as possible, preferably underneath your belly.

If you are experiencing lower back pain that accompanies pregnancy, there are several things to try. First, apply a heating pad to the area or take a warm bath to relax the muscles. Make sure you wear comfortable shoes and avoid high heels and flat shoes with no arch support. Also, try to gain only the recommended amount of weight which can lessen the burden on your back.

Your pregnancy means the decisions are yours.  Just because someone in your office or a distant relative doesn’t believe that you should drink coffee or lift something heavier than 20 pounds doesn’t mean they control your pregnancy decisions.  Talk to your doctor and make your decisions with them.  Ignore unsolicited comments from others.

Now that you have seen some of the ways that you can have a happier, healthier pregnancy and also prepare for your delivery, you can rest assured that these nine months will soon be a distant memory.  A treasured memory though.  Don’t forget to take the time to reflect on your experience.
