catPregnancy is not a barrier to show your love to the cat. It’s just that you are required to be careful on your pet because of the pregnancy; you need to be alert to the risk of disease from animals.

Toxoplasmosis gondii is a parasite found in dogs and cats feces. This parasite can cause Toxoplasmosis disease. If pregnant women suffer from this disease, the result can be fatal: a miscarriage or birth defects. But not all dogs and cats are potential health problem for mothers. So, no need to rush the cat as indicting the accused (see following tips).

Some tips for caring your pets:*

  • Check with your pet to the vet regularly, including feces examination.Take it to a veterinarian immediately if your pets show some illness signs.
  • Wash your hands with soap every time after touching the animals.
  • Do not let pets sniffing your face when you are pregnant, or even letting a puppy licking your face. Also avoid sleeping together with them.
  • Delegate to some else to maintaining cage/aquarium with hygiene. Ask them to put cat or dog’s dirt in a plastic bag before disposing into the trash.
  • Do not give raw meat to a cat or dog, to minimize the risk of parasite-infected diseases. It’s better to give them a special meal or cooked food for animals.
  • Always keep the cleanliness and tidiness pet’s body. They also need “personal Groom” treatment; you should occasionally take them to an animal salon.
